Topping Off Party - Friday, August. 15

Thanks to all of our friends and neighbors who helped us celebrate the placement of turning #14.  

 

Friday, August 15.  Topping Off the Empty Tree Pit Sculpture.  The final pieces goes up tonight.  Please join us on the sidewalk at 2225 E. Pratt St. tonight between 7 and 7:30 pm for a celebration. Mark & Nancy

Had to get the ladder out this morning to add piece 12.  

Tuesday, August 12

Finally stopped raining.  Expecting a growth spurt tonight.  Great to see the blog post on the City Paper's website. 

 

Monday,  August 11

Mark put piece #10 on this weekend. Slowed down traffic on Pratt street as the sculpture is now clearly visible above the parked cars.  

Is that a watering can?  That explains the growth spurt.  Thanks, neighbor.

Mark was up early this morning installing piece #5.  Thanks for all of your comments on Facebook.  If you're passing by, maybe on your way to the water ballet in the park, we'd love to collect pictures of our friends with the sculpture.  Post them here or on Facebook.  Thanks!

Last night's rain led to a growth spurt this morning.  #3 and #4 are both now above ground.  Lots of activity around the pit today with a Zip Car sighting early this morning and our new neighbor from Boston moving in this afternoon. Welcome to Pratt St!

Friday, August 1, 2014.  Ådded Piece #2.  Visited by what we think is a number of newly hatched Red Admirals. 

 

Beautiful summer night in Baltimore. Here's Mark leveling the stump and installing the hardware for the first growth of the sculpture.  Special thanks to our neighbors, who came out watch and support the first stage of the project.

The plan is to "plant" the first piece on July 30, 2014.

Working on a plan for assembly using some threaded steel rods and an old flange I found in my father's tool box.
